Birchington Medical Centre (BMC), part of Invicta Health CIC, has been rated overall as GOOD for all populations groups by the CQC in its report published on 22nd September 2021. This followed an inspection visit conducted on 6th August 2021.

The report describes the CQC’s judgement of the quality of care being provided by BMC over its main site at Minnis Road and branch surgery at Orchard House in Lydd.

The CQC inspection team was led by an experienced inspector and supported by a second inspector who spoke with staff using video conferencing facilities alongside the site visit in early August 2021. The team also included a GP specialist adviser who completed remote clinical searches and records reviews.

The rating is based on a combination of factors including what was found during the inspection, information from ongoing monitoring of data about services and data provided to the CQC by the practice, patients, the public and other organisations.

We would like to thank the Patient Participation Group (PPG) for its involvement in the inspection process and ongoing support.

Oena Windibank, Managing Director of Invicta Health CIC, said:

“Whilst we are pleased with the overall rating of GOOD from the CQC, there is no room for complacency. We know that we do not always deliver the care our patients expect, and we will continue to seek their feedback, working with the PPG to improve the care we provide.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, clinical and non-clinical, for their work throughout the pandemic. Invicta Health CIC will continue to work with the Regulators, local commissioners, patients and partner organisations to ensure our patients receive the care that they deserve”
