Clinics and Services
8 Week Baby Check
The baby clinics are held by appointment. The clinic also allows an opportunity to discuss other problems, eg sleeping, feeding and child health worries, with the doctors, nurses or health visitors.
Adult Immunisations
Tetanus and Polio
All adults should ensure that they have had a total of five does of tetanus vaccine in their life and they have had full course of polio in the past. If in doubt, please check with the receptionist. Protection against tetanus and polio should be kept up to date. A full primary course with a booster at 15 years of age should be followed by at least two boosters at 10 year intervals to protect throughout life.
Flu vaccination
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in September for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment.

Pneumococcal vaccination
The Pneumococcal vaccination prevents a certain type of pneumonia. This is a one off vaccination recommended for the over 65’s, for those who have no spleen, who are immuno-suppressed, diabetic or suffer from chronic bronchitis or heart disease.
Hepatitis B vaccination
The Hepatitis B vaccination is recommended for homosexuals, bisexuals, intravenous drug users, or at-risk professionals ie doctors, nurses, police officers, ambulance personnel etc., though there may be a charge for some professions.
Travel Immunisations
The practice nurses provide comprehensive advice about overseas travel and can administer NHS approved vaccines only.
Shingles
The shingles vaccine helps protect against shingles. It's available on the NHS for all adults turning 65, those aged 70 to 79 and those aged 18 and over with a severely weakened immune system.
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
The RSV vaccine helps protect against infection with RSV, a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill. It's offered on the NHS if you're pregnant, aged 75 to 79, or turned 80 after 1 September 2024.
COVID-19
The COVID-19 vaccine helps protect against COVID-19, which can be a serious or life-threatening illness for some people. It's usually offered on the NHS in spring and early winter to people who need extra protection from COVID-19.
Asthma/COPD Clinic
This is run by our practice nurse in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment only.
Child Immunisations
Vaccinations for babies and children are undertaken by the nursing team by appointment only.
General practitioners and senior clinicians are on site for support.
Advice and support regarding sleep, feeding etc should be sought through your nominated health visitor.

Contraceptive care is provided by all the doctors during surgery hours. Appointments for smears, postnatal checks and discussion of women's health issues are available with our doctors and nurses. Please discuss your needs with reception who can signpost you to right clinician.
